Nationalists Clash with Zionists over Israel-Palestine Narratives
Nationalists are fighting for a Palestinian voice against a hardened pro-Israel media and its gatekeepers as the conflict rages on in the Middle East.
Sunday morning, the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro released a 9-minute segment on X about propaganda surrounding the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
The staunch Zionist’s documentary on Israel may not be enough for him to convince the intense scrutiny of America Firsters and other nationalists.
Right-wing pundits and influencers, including Timcast’s Cassandra [Fairbanks] MacDonald, the Gateway Pundit’s Elijah Shaffer and BlazeTV’s Lauren Chen, have all publicly denounced Shapiro’s or others’ emotionally driven responses akin to an “ethnic cleansing” of Palestine.
The rhetoric has been notably loud, exaggerated and generating falsehoods. “Pro-Palestine” has become intertwined with “pro-Hamas,” making true discussion on intervention and what is occurring in the region difficult to follow. That isn’t to say the nationalists are perfect in their advocacy. Still, they never pin the opposition against a wall or entrap them with manipulations of the term “Zionism” in order for them to be deemed “antisemitic.”
The Risk of Truth
Most nationalists understand the game, so they choose to remain anonymous. As for those in the media, they are either “pro-Israel,” stay quiet or indirectly endorse the nationalist perspective. Writer upon writer has told Paleocon Publishing,
You can take a stance and make your decision, but then you’ll lose some opportunities.
Still, some are openly outspoken, like the young Irish nationalist Keith Woods. The Gen Z writer at the Unz Review first gained prominence for exposing the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) censorious mission for X during the #BanTheADL. He has made strides to disrupt the Zionist gatekeepers, even garnering Elon Musk's attention in the fight for free speech. Over a month’s time, Woods has amassed over 100k followers on X.
Nationalists that challenge the Zionist influence tend to have their lives obliterated—whether it is de-platforming, debanking or stigmatization. We know too many who have suffered those consequences.
So, how long will Keith Woods last?
Social media companies are expected to clamp down on “antisemitism” in light of the ongoing events in Israel and the heated discourse. In his last meeting with Ben Shapiro and the 9 Jewish leaders, Elon Musk agreed that anti-Zionism is the same as antisemitism. He may have said that as a cursory nod rather than a full-fledged pledge, but there is something to worry about here.
Censorship & Propaganda
If Musk agreed and accepted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism, all opposing narratives to the Zionists, including news bits, would be wiped from the platform. Remember, Shapiro, a right-wing Zionist, advocated for this and is now telling the public about propaganda surrounding the war and the origins of Israel as a nation.
He knows full well that the Zionists would then have complete control over the war’s narrative, allowing for only pro-Israel news. This would likely manifest as propaganda, as there is no balance or counternarrative.
It makes you wonder if Shapiro was ever a free-speech conservative.
Most “normies” will focus on the definition’s goal in combatting antisemitism, ignoring the anti-Zionism designation and its effect on public awareness of the war. But already, we are told to blindly support Israel, our “greatest ally.
In the process, Arabs have been dehumanized as Muslim “savages” by many conservative commentators, including Dan Bongino. If these people are indeed the “savages,” let the information flow and allow the people to decide democratically.
But there can never be a questioning of power to these tyrants. They will claim “troll” accounts are pushing “fake news,” when ironically, many of these users are elevating stories that are being neglected or simply untold by the corporate press.
The censoring has already begun after MSNBC removed Ayman Mohyeldin, Ali Velshi and Mehdi Hassan from anchoring duties. All three commentators are Muslim, although Hassan is the more provocative in his pro-Palestine stance.
MSNBC had touted Mohyeldin as the network’s most experienced reporter in Gaza. Cutting him was purely based on his stern criticism of Israeli policies against Palestinians.
Velshi has also covered the region, recently hosting an interview with a spokesman for the Palestinian Authority governing the occupied West Bank.
MSNBC claimed these moves were “coincidental,” yet the New York Post published an editorial slamming the network’s coverage as “having run interference for Hamas.”
NewsNation’s Dan Abrams also chimed in, saying MSNBC was “pandering to their far left audience,” going so far as to single out the three Muslim commentators.
Media Influence and ‘the Establishment’
It is quite common for any suggestion of Zionist media to be deemed antisemitic. However, most who work in right-wing media know that most publications and outlets are either Christian Zionists or Zionists. Most editors and publishers have commented publicly on X, like the senior editor at Breitbart, Joel Pollak. The Spectator’s Ben Domenech has also repeatedly made his stance public, already slamming TPUSA’s Charlie Kirk as antisemitic.
There shouldn’t be any foul to state an outlet is Christian Zionist or Zionist, particularly because the problem isn’t Zionism itself.
It is instead the abusive influence Zionists have over foreign and even domestic policies. No nationalist cares whether Israel exists; it just shouldn’t be the top priority for the States—it’s that simple. There should be no priority treatment over the US’s domestic concerns.
The corporate media influence is primarily to blame, along with the stranglehold of the Israel Lobby. This amount of leverage undermines the so-called democracy in which we live. The media collates the “factual” information, and the Lobby recruits its underlings not to represent the constituents but to maintain the status quo—“the establishment.”
It is doubtful this will change, at least for another few generations, although some are awaking to the reality of an establishment class that is self-serving and certainly not America First.
